ICAPP Update (25-7): Merger of the Central
Committee’s Commission for External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam
and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing
Committee, This is to inform you that the ICAPP Secretariat
has received an official letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the
Socialist Republic of Vietnam regarding the recent merger of the Central
Committee’s Commission for External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam
and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which
took effect on January 24, 2025. As a result, from January 25, 2025, the Party
Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam will serve as the primary
point of contact for all external relations between the Communist Party of
Vietnam and foreign political parties. Additionally, the Party Committee of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it will continue implementing
the plans, programs, and cooperation agreements previously established by the
Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations. Following the merger,
the relevant departments will soon reach out to the corresponding offices
within the ICAPP Secretariat to further strengthen cooperation and advance
existing agreements. The Secretariat will keep ICAPP Standing
