ICAPP Update (25-19) (URGENT) Statement on Tensions between India and Pakistan

Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,

The Secretariat proposes to issue a following statement in the name of SC Members of the ICAPP over the current tensions between India and Pakistan. Please provide any comments or suggestion you may have as quickly as possible.

“The Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee share the ‘deep concern’ expressed by U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres on April 29, 2025 over rising tensions between India and Pakistan since the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir a week ago. We also support the Secretary General’s initiative to help mediate in support of any de-escalation efforts and avoid a confrontation that could result in tragic consequences.”
