ICAPP Update (25-41): MOUs between ICAPP
and COPPPAL, and between ICAPP and
APPI Dear
Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee, This is to
inform you that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Exchange of Observers
and Cooperation between the ICAPP and the COPPPAL,
Permanent Conference of Political Parties in Latin America and the Caribbean,
was signed on August 11, 2025. The MOU was signed by Hon. Chung Eui-yong, Chairman of the ICAPP Standing Committee and Hon.
Alejandro Moreno Cardenas, President of the COPPPAL
and President of the PRI,
Institutional Revolutionary Party of Mexico. The MOU on
Exchange of Observers and Cooperation between the ICAPP and the APPI, African
Political Parties Initiative, was also signed on August 12, 2025 between
Chairman Chung Eui-yong of the ICAPP Standing
Committee and Hon. Jeffrey Thamsanqa Radebe, Chairman of the Advisory Board and Executive
Council of the Africa Governance Center (AGC), and Special Envoy of the
President of South Africa, on behalf of the APPI. The AGC is currently
functioning as the temporary Secretariat of the APPI. Both MOUs were
signed on the occasion of Africa Political Parties Summit (APPS) 2025 held in
Accra, Ghana during August 12-14, 2025, and copies of them are attached
herewith. The APPS 2025,
which had formally launched the APPI, was attended by representatives of 44
political parties from 27 countries in Africa, and about 20 special guests,
including Chairman Chung and Hon. Mushahid Hussain
Sayed, Co-Chairman and Special Rapporteur of the ICAPP Standing Committee. A more detailed
report on the outcome of the participation by the ICAPP mission will be
