ICAPP Updates
ICAPP Update (10-44)
I'd also like to confirm that the 6th General Assembly and the 14th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the ICAPP will be convened in Phnom Penh during Dec. 1 to 4, 2010, as have been planned. The Secretariat has been informed by the Organizing Committee that the situation in Phnom Penh after the tragic accident that occurred on Nov. 23 has now been fully stabilized by prompt and effective measures taken by the Cambodia Government under the able leadership of H.E. Prime Minister Hun Sen, and H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Sok An, who headed a National Commission which was set up immediately afterward to administer the aftermath of the accident. In this regard, I'd like to report that the following message has been sent in the name of the ICAPP Standing Committee on Nov. 23 to H.E. Sok An, who is concurrently Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 6th GA. "It is with a great shock and sadness to hear the tragic news which has happened over night in Phnom Penh. We send our deepest condolences to the victims of the accident and their families, and our best wishes to other survivors to rapidly recover from their injuries. Please don't hesitate to let us know what we can possibly do to lessen your ordeal. Our thoughts and prayers are always with the people and the government of Cambodia during this difficult time." |
