Sri Lanka to Host ICAPP in September Published on Friday, 14 March 2014 01:52 The Secretary General of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Chung Eui-yong met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees Thursday (13) afternoon to discuss preparations for the next conference, which will be held in Sri Lanka from September 18-21. As the host country, Sri Lanka selected “Building an Asian Community” as the main theme of the conference The invitation to host this year’s ICAPP was made in July last year when Eui-yong met the President. Eui-yong said other ICAPP members were “very enthusiastic” about the possibility of Sri Lanka hosting the next conference. Approximately 100 different political parties from across Asia are expected to attend the high-level conference. Ambassador of Korea in Sri Lanka Jongmoon Choi accompanied Eui-yong. Minister of Health and the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Maithripala Sirisena, Secretary to the President . Lalith Weeratunga and Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs Mrs. Kshenuka Seneviratne were also present.
