Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,

This is to inform you that, after assuming new job of the "Director of National Security and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Security Council (NSC) in the Presidential Office of the ROK" (Please note that there is slight difference from the title in the Update 17-17), I decided to appoint ambassador (Ret.) Jeon Jae-man, Deputy Secretary General of the ICAPP, as Acting Secretary General of the ICAPP. It does not mean my concern and aspiration for the future of the ICAPP has been lessened, it is just because I cannot engage myself to the activities of the ICAPP in fulltime basis.

It is believed that SC members will render the same support and assistance to the new Acting Secretary General as did to me, so that he can accomplish his duties with fruits including the successful convening of the following meetings in Seoul during 7-9 July. - 3rd Meeting of the ICAPP Media Forum (July 7) - 28th Meeting of the Standing Committee (late evening of July 7) - 1st Meeting of the Asia Europe Political Forum (AEPF) (July 9)
