(ICAPP Update 23-40) Resignation of the Secretary-General

Dear Distinguished Members of the ICAPP Standing Committee,

This is to inform you with great regret that Hon. Ahn Myung-soo, former Ambassador to Turkmenistan and Consul-General in Houston of the Republic of Korea, has decided to resign from the position of Secretary General of the ICAPP Secretariat as of July 31, 2023.

Although he has served in the position for a relatively short period of time, Ambassador Ahn has made distinctive contributions to promoting the ideals of the ICAPP by actively engaging with political parties in the region, which I believe all members of the ICAPP Standing Committee will agree.

In this regard, the nomination for the new Secretary General will be made shortly after due process.
